 The above limestone layer is very friable, as alluded to by Hooke, and can be easily broken to pieces with a stick or one's foot. Below can be seen a block that has fallen from the above layer in the cliff and is in the process of disintegration.
 Fossil shell layer consisting of Batillaria, Corbicula and occasional Natica (a type of periwinkle). This layer was situated about 80 feet up the cliff slope.  |
